The Competitive College Job Market
A recent study out of Rutgers found that 50% of recent grads in the last five years are either underemployed or unemployed. Another…startling finding in that specific study was that only 1 in 5 students believed their generation would be more successful than the generations before them. ¶ Additionally, the Wall Street Journal published findings from a study of over 60,000 May 2014 graduates with very similar results. To make matters worse, a notable percentage of those who went on to grad school admitted they only did so because the could not find full-time employment.
